What's next?

Since launching Future of Dev back in January, my first-ever public course has gathered 100 downloads with limited marketing. Mostly due to time in my full-time role, but seeing the downloads has inspired me to press forwards.

Moving forward with the relaunch and rebranding, the course now supports both Claude and Codex, which is a sign of what’s to come.

“Dev” means the future of developing skills around AI. Whatever your profession or experience level, this will become a place to turn curiosity into practical understanding that you can use.

The key to defining my mission was to define “Dev”.

• What am I discussing the future of?

• Why am I discussing it?

• Why am I in the position to discuss the future?

Why is this needed?

Fundamentally, I don’t think we (the industry) are doing enough to help professionals to upskill with AI. The pace is relentless, too fast, in fact, for any form of training to keep up.

Everyone is undeniably AI-curious in some capacity, but they need a place to go.

Why me?

I don’t work in Silicon Valley or at a frontier lab. But, I am extremely fortunate to have my role as VP of AI Operations at a leading European AI Company (Sidetrade).

We are hosting our own models, on our own GPU’s. I am building an Enterprise AI harness with an incredible team and we are deploying agents to some of the biggest companies in the world.

Over the last 10 years at Sidetrade, I have been running free Software bootcamps to help people to learn how to code.

I want to continue this by helping people to learn how AI impacts them, by breaking down my knowledge, learnings and insights for people.

You can expect to see content land in your inbox in the following forms:

1. Frontier Insights: What is going on from as close to the frontier as I can get, from breaking down big news to big releases or advancements and what they mean to you

2. Bitesize Learning: Small reads and practical exercises which anybody can do; usually, one week builds on the knowledge from the previous, so you can catch up in your own time

3. Free Courses: The first course I released is as big and broad as they come, in the form of a bootcamp. Expect smaller, lower barrier-to-entry courses that allow you to go deeper on the bite-sized learning

I will also be open-sourcing a new learning framework called Skilling. Skilling turns any Agent Harness into your own personal tutor, for example Claude or Codex.

It is a fully open specification which allows other creators to build courses out across the ecosystem, my hope is that Skilling helps experts to scale learning.
